Precautions for starting the laser cutting machine after resuming work

XT Laser - Laser Cutting Machine

With the gradual control of the COVID-19 epidemic, many metal laser processing enterprises have begun to resume production. For laser cutting machines, it is very important to make sufficient preparations before starting production. So, how should we start the machine correctly? What are the precautions?

Startup steps

1Before starting the power supply, it is necessary to check whether the power supply is normal, whether the three-phase electricity is balanced, and whether the power and signal wires are damaged or have poor contact or even mouse bites.

2Check the supporting equipment of the laser cutting machine, such as whether the air compressor is running normally, and whether the water in the air tank and filter is discharged completely. Customers using nitrogen or oxygen should pay attention to whether the pipeline is leaking, especially when opening the gas, they should stand on the side of the gas outlet to prevent excessive pressure and injury caused by the explosion of the gas pipe.

3Turn on the main power supply, open the software, check if there is an alarm in the software, and manually check if the X/Y/Z/W axis is normal and returns to the original point (it needs to be returned to the original point and calibrated every time the machine is turned on).

4Check if the copper nozzle and insulation ring are tightened and manually calibrate.

5Press the blow button on the remote control to check if the high-pressure and low-pressure air are normal.

6Turn on the laser (note that high-power lasers should wait for at least 30 minutes of self dehumidification before emitting light), check if the laser indicator light is normal, and if there are any abnormalities, please contact the after-sales service engineer in a timely manner.

7Before cutting, check whether the copper nozzle model corresponds to the plate, clean the protective lens, and check whether the process parameters match the plate.

8After the inspection is completed, locate the border and check if the red light is within the range of the board.

9After starting the program, pay attention to the cutting situation at all times. If there are any abnormalities, eliminate the fault factors before continuing the cutting.

10Finally, some customers have already drained the water tank before the holiday. It is important to fill the tank with pure or distilled water before starting the machine, check if the water pipe joint is locked, and if the drain valve is closed. When opening the chiller, pay attention to observing the operation of the chiller, whether there is water leakage in the water pipe, whether the values of each pressure gauge are normal, and whether there is backflow in the return pipe (if there is no backflow: 1. Check whether each water pipe valve is open, 2. Check whether the water pipe is bent, 3. Check whether the water pump is empty, etc.). Finally, check if the temperature of the water tank is set correctly.

For northern customers, in order to avoid damage to the laser or other accessories caused by water freezing, unnecessary losses can be reduced by adding antifreeze or maintaining workshop temperature to prevent the machine from freezing.

Safety considerations

1Strictly follow the equipment instructions or professional training steps to start the machine.

2Operators must undergo professional training from the company, be familiar with machine tool structure, performance, software, and safety operation knowledge, and be able to handle emergencies.

3When the machine is running, operators should not leave their positions without authorization. If they need to leave, they should press the pause or emergency stop button.

4Maintain the hygiene of supporting equipment such as machine tools, electrical cabinets, and water tanks, and remove items such as garbage that affect the normal operation of the machine.

5Pay attention to personal safety when loading and unloading materials (it is strictly prohibited for personnel to come to an emergency stop without turning off the machine or to pick up materials from the machine platform while the machine is running).

6All operators must wear protective equipment, such as masks, protective glasses, etc.

7When cutting boards, if there are problems that cannot be determined, it is necessary to communicate and solve them with the corresponding regional engineers in a timely manner.

8Pay attention to fire and electricity prevention, and equip corresponding fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment.
